With 41% CRP growth, Meril moved up eight places to become the highest performing non-food brand. Meril secured 28th position in the overall FMCG ranking and was the 10th brand in health and beauty segment. Despite trip size remaining stable, Meril is growing through buyer expansion.
Meril has a strong presence in multiple categories within the health and beauty segment, but the brand owes its success to outstanding growth in bar soap and petroleum jelly.
Meril grew by focusing on the most popular pack sizes of its products across categories and seized opportunities as buyers moved away from global brands towards local brands in search of better price points.
Although the number shopping trips only marginally increased, 7UP nudged up one place to become the number two beverage brand and achieved CRP growth of 39%.
7UP’s success was due to its strong brand presence and ability to satisfy consumer demand for larger pack sizes.
As the leading carbonated soft drink in Bangladesh, 7UP is driving the growth of the category, with enough headroom to increase its buyers in the long term.
