Provision stores rise in importance for snackers
Despite convenience stores remaining the biggest channel for OOH snacks in terms of share of spend, there are signs that it is beginning to struggle. This channel has suffered the steepest decline in value sales for both sweet and savoury snacks.
Provision stores are moving in the opposite direction, growing their share of value fastest for savoury snacks. For sweet snacks, the rising stars are stalls, kiosks, mobile and peddle outlets, reflecting the increasing trend for snacking ‘on the go’.
